The First Full Trailer for ‘Ghost in the Shell’ Is Finally Here

After numerous hints and cryptic reveals made by both Scarlett Johansson and director Rupert Sanders, made for their upcoming live-action Ghost In The Shell remake, the first official trailer for the highly-expected sci-fi movie is out.

The movie will give us a rather exhilarating and visually mind-bending showcase of the story portraying the fictional counter-cyberterrorist organization Public Security Section 9, led by protagonist Major Motoko Kusanagi, taking place in the mid 21st century Japan. Johansson plays the role of The Major, a half-cyborg leader of an elite Japanese task force, tasked with combating utterly diabolical criminals. The movie also interestingly dives into the highly pressing question about the consequences of increasing the capability of artificial intelligence.

The trailer features some eye-catching scenes like the robot geishas, the futuristic Tokyo skyline, but also, a scene where the main character divulges in some lesbian girl-on-girl action – which we know that the male part of our audience will love.

While remakes had less than stellar outcomes in recent years, we feel that casting Johansson as The Major – albeit protests due to the character being uniquely Japanese, naturally – alongside the scenery, other cast members (Michael Pitt, Rila Fukushima) and the storyline, will give us one action-packed sci-fi movie that we’ve all expecting. The Ghost In The Shell movie comes to theaters March 2017. Until then, check out the first trailer for Ghost In The Shell right below.
